ICT: Computing Technologies, Online Safety and Behaviours

Computing Technologies

At Cheveley Park, it is our intent to provide a robust curriculum which prepares all students for the demands of the technological world of the future. We want technologies to be used in innovative ways to enhance attainment and progression of all pupils as they journey through primary. We believe that we can enhance pupil achievement by using ICT and Computing Technologies in new and creative ways, embracing it as a vital tool of all strands of modern life. We want children to become autonomous, independent users of computing technologies, gaining confidence and enjoyment from their activities. We want the use of technology to support learning across the entire curriculum and to ensure that our curriculum is accessible to every child.

Online Safety and Behaviours

Here at Cheveley Park Primary it is our intention that all students understand what it means to be an outstanding digital citizen. We want all students to be confident, respectful online communicators, who are educated in both the potential and the risks of our digital world and the digital footprint we leave behind. We want to ensure the safeguarding of all pupils whilst being mindful of the implications of rapidly developing technologies within our school community and beyond. We have developed a robust and progressive curriculum to equip our children on their digital journey using Project Evolve, which is based upon the DFE document ‘Education for a Connected World’. We record and manage any concerns about pupils’ safety online using the CPOMS system.
