P.S.H.E.

At Belmont Cheveley Park Primary School, the intent of our personal, social, health and economic education (PSHE) curriculum is that it is accessible to all, giving pupils the knowledge, skills and understanding they need to lead confident, healthy, independent lives, in order to become informed, active and responsible citizens of the future. Throughout our curriculum, our aim is to foster pupil wellbeing and develop resilience leading to happy and successful pupils who are able to keep moving forward and recover from any challenging periods in their lives.

Carefully planned and progressive planning from Reception to Year 6 will ensure the key building blocks of positive, healthy and respectful relationships, focusing on family and friendships, in all contexts, including online will be effectively delivered and learned. Our aim is for our pupils to know how to form strong and positive relationships with others.

It is our intent that pupils will learn the essential characteristics of good physical health and mental wellbeing as well as simple self-care techniques giving pupils the knowledge and capability to take care of themselves. We believe the importance of teaching a firm foundation of good health and wellbeing for our pupils.

In our quest to develop confident, knowledgeable and well-rounded citizens, we provide opportunities to learn about living in the wider world such as content on financial education, caring for the environment and careers. We clearly intend for our pupils to be successful and happy adults who make a meaningful contribution to society.
